This session will provide foundational understanding and research of the importance of meeting the needs of the whole child as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the emotional issues that might affect our students and learn how to address critical emotional and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, and grief.  The session will provide general considerations for schools in meeting CDC guidelines as it relates to social/emotional screening. Teachers will also receive an overview on the stigma, racism, and social justice issues that might adversely impact social/emotional functioning of our students, families, and educators.
