AG Concludes Retirees May Serve in the Mississippi Legislature

In an opinion dated November 29, 2018, Attorney General Jim Hood concluded that retired state employees should be able to keep their retirement benefits (i.e., pension) and serve as a senator or representative in the Mississippi Legislature.  Click here to read that opinion.  This is a wonderful opportunity for state retirees – including retired educators – to serve our state and for their expertise to benefit state policy discussions.
