Educators made the safety and well-being of their students a priority following ICE raids at seven processing plants in our state Wednesday which turned the normally exciting first day of school into a traumatic experience for teachers and students in surrounding local school districts.  MPE thanks the educators in the impacted districts who went above and beyond to make sure that their students were safe and cared for Wednesday evening.  It was extremely powerful to see the outpouring of concern on social media from educators in other parts of the state who offered their prayers and support to the educators and students of the districts impacted by the raids.  Wednesday was a prime example of what really matters in our schools and that is relationships between educators and their students!
