MPE Awards NBCT Scholarships

NBCT Scholarships:  MPE recently awarded $475 scholarships to the following six members who are pursuing National Board Certification:


  1. Tammye Harvey, Wayne Central School, Waynesboro
  2. Amy Mize, Saltillo Elementary, Saltillo
  3. Bruce Mize, West Point High School, West Point
  4. Joshaunda Purvis, Clinton High School, Clinton
  5. Kayla Quick, Northside Elementary, Clinton
  6. Nikki Robinson, Petal Middle School, Petal


NBCT Diverse Practitioner Scholarships:  With funding provided by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, MPE is partnering with MDE to support up to 250 diverse teachers from throughout Mississippi in their pursuit of National Board Certification.  We recently awarded 94 NBCT Diverse Practitioner Scholarships in Year One of this two-year project.  Congratulations to the following 20 MPE members who are among the 94 recipients:

  14. Ashley McNair, Ocean Springs School District
