The Republican Caucus of the Mississippi House met last Thursday and selected Speaker Philip Gunn to continue serving as Speaker of the Mississippi House for the next four-year term. Caucus members also selected Rep. Jason White for the position of Speaker Pro Tem. A member of the legislature since 2012, Rep. White represents Attala, Carroll, Holmes, and Leake counties. Gunn and White will be elected on January 7, the opening day of the 2020 Regular Session of the Mississippi Legislature.
