The Accountability Task Force met via teleconference this past Tuesday, March 24. The agenda included discussions related to the suspension of assessment and accountability requirements due to COVID-19 and the future implications of these suspensions on the accountability model. Task force members recognized that there will certainly be future implications, but felt that significant discussions could not be held until after today’s State Board of Education actions.
The task force also discussed incorporating ACT WorkKeys into the accountability model, with MDE staff suggesting that the task force consider using MDE’s diploma endorsements, rather than WorkKeys. Task force members raised several concerns related to this suggestion, including CTE inequities among districts and implications for SPED students. The task force will continue to review this matter.
The task force’s next meeting is scheduled for April 22, but members may meet prior to that if necessary.
