Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) is offering two new opportunities. The first is designed for teachers, while the second is designed for rural high schools in our state:
Teacher Feature:Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) is calling on Mississippi teachers to help make learning fun this summer. MPB is hosting a teacher-led project called Teacher Feature. Mississippi’s Teacher of the Year, Hannah Gadd Ardrey, suggested this project to MPB. Teacher Feature will highlight teachers from across the state teaching one concept in less than five minutes. MPB is asking teachers to create a home video that is creative and fun while teaching this one concept. MPB will share these videos throughout the month of July 2020 on its Facebook page and will create a special webpage where they will live. All videos must be submitted by June 26, 2020. Click here for additional information and guidelines.
Grant for Rural High Schools: The Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) is looking for up to 10 rural high schools to include in a grant opportunity that will assist each school with providing certified teachers for classrooms that do not have one. For years, MPB has offered this FREE service to schools across the state. The Digital Education Network (DEN) assists school districts by offering new opportunities to all students regardless of their location. That means a teacher can instruct students assembled in a class hundreds of miles away through state-of-the-art technology. If you are a high school administrator and would like to learn more about this opportunity, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
