The State Board of Education held its monthly meeting Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Central High School in Jackson. Among other agenda items, the Board:
Announced the state’s 2024-25 school year graduation rate of 90.8% and the dropout rate of 7%. Compared to 2023-24, the dropout rate decreased by 1.5 percentage points and the graduation rate increased by 1.6 percentage points. Click here for more information.
Awarded Educator-in-Residence (EIR) grants totaling $13.9 million for 28 EIRs to provide literacy coaching support in 21 districts.
