Today’s schools are increasingly attended by students from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.  Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the impact of social emotional learning on student achievement, student behavior, and student engagement.  The session will provide information on key social and emotional skills that students should develop.  Teachers will also receive training on explicit lessons to teach social and emotional skills and providing opportunities for students to reinforce those skills during the school day.
