2/15/18 Legislative Bill Tracking: Appropriation Process Begins

Both the House and the Senate have spent most of this week considering appropriations for various state agencies. Appropriation bills were passed in their chamber of origin for the Mississippi Department of Education (HB 1592), our state’s community colleges (SB 2954), our state’s universities (SB 2944), and the Office of Student Financial Aid (SB 2946). Open the attached document for our most recent bill tracking spreadsheet. Committees must pass general bills originating in the other chamber by February 27 or the bills will die. Each chamber must pass appropriation bills originating in the other chamber by March 13.
