Walsh to Lead MPE as 2020-2021 President

The MPE Board of Directors has elected its 2020-2021 officers:

 

  • President:  Devin Walsh, a K-1 teacher at Oak Grove Primary School in Lamar County. 
  • President-elect: Tamra Mills, Language Arts curriculum chair at Newton County Elementary
  • Secretary-Treasurer:  Dr. LaShundia Carson, Director of Student Teaching & Field Experiences at Alcorn State University. 
  • Past-President:  Lori Brennan, Assistant Principal at Ocean Springs High School

 

The following members were elected to the MPE Board of Directors during our annual meeting which was held via teleconference on Saturday, April 4: 

 

  • Community College: Dana Knight, a Spanish instructor at Jones College 
  • University: Dr. Tracey Gregory, an Assistant Professor of Graduate Education and Doctoral Studies at Belhaven University
  • Retirees: Ike Sanford, retired Superintendent of the Covington County School District
  • Representative-at-Large: Chanda Ferguson, a kindergarten teacher at South Pontotoc Elementary in the Pontotoc County School District

 

MPE would like to thank Cheryl Howard (Past-President), Dr. David Lowery (Community College), Kevin Garrett (Retirees) and Shannon Eubanks (Representative-at-Large) for their service to MPE, as they rotated off our board last Saturday.  We appreciate the many hours of leadership they provided to our association.
