Mississippi Celebrates 29 New NBCTs

Mississippi gained 29 new National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) on Saturday, February 27! Congratulations to the following:

  7. Cheryl Brent-Thomas, Choctaw Tribal Schools
  8. Aprillee Cardenas, Lee County School District
  9. Tracy Conerly, Ocean Springs School District
  10. Anna Cox, Amory School District
  11. Heather Deaton, Tishomingo County School District
  12. Elizabeth Elliott, South Tippah School District
  13. Misty Gatlin, Lee County School District
  14. Amy Hardy, Tupelo Public School District
  15. Elizabeth Herden, Madison County School District

These new NBCTs work in 19 school districts and a Choctaw Tribal School.  Madison County Schools gained 4 new NBCTs, while DeSoto County Schools had 3 teachers to earn certification.  Franklin County, Jackson County, Lee County and Tishomingo County all had 2 teachers to earn National Board Certification.
