Voters in three states rejected measures in the November 5 General Election to expand private school choice:
In Kentucky, 65% of voters rejected amending the state’s constitution to allow for education savings accounts and charter schools.
Voters in Nebraska repealed the state’s Opportunity Scholarship Act which gives parents $10 million a year in state tax credits to spend on private school tuition.
A Colorado proposal to integrate the right to school choice into the state constitution only garnered 48% of the vote, falling short of the required 55% for passage.
