The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) recently announced the congressional district finalists for Mississippi’s 2025 Teacher of the Year and Administrator of the Year:
Teacher of the Year Finalists
Congressional District 1 – Lori Warnick, Mooreville High School, Lee County School District
Congressional District 2 – Kristie Montesi, Lockhard Elementary School, Sunflower County Consolidated School District
Congressional District 3 – Tobie Lambert, Mississippi School of the Arts*
Congressional District 4 – Ashley Barefoot, Longleaf Elementary School, Lamar County School District*
Administrator of the Year Finalists
Congressional District 1 – Zane Thomas, Houston High School, Chickasaw County School District
Congressional District 2 – Dr. Shemeka McClung, Callaway High School, Jackson Public School District
