The Two Mississippi Museums encourage teachers in all Mississippi school districts to take advantage of free field trips for their students to the museums. The trips are funded through the William and Elise Winter Education Endowment. The goal of the endowment is to bring all students to the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum during their K-12 education, regardless of their school’s ability to pay. The endowment covers the costs for travel, admission, and lunch for students and teachers. Tens of thousands of students have visited the museums through the endowment.
