The Mississippi State Board of Education met Thursday, November 20, 2025. Among its agenda items, the Board approved new A-F performance level cuts for the Mississippi Statewide Accountability System. These new performance level cuts will be used to assign grades to schools and districts for the 2025-26 school year. State law requires that performance standards increase when proficiency rates exceed 75% or when 65% of schools or districts earn a “B” or higher. This occurred in 2023. The State Board also released ACT results of all public high school juniors who took the test during the spring 2025 statewide administration. The average composite score increased from 17.4 in 2024 to 17.5 in 2025. The percentage of juniors meeting the benchmark scores in all four ACT subjects increased from 8.8% in 2024 to 9.5% in 2025.
