Student Testing Task Force Convenes

The Mississippi Student Testing Task Force held its first meeting earlier today. The MDE created this task force to examine student testing on the state and local school district levels. The task force will work to determine best practices for monitoring student progress in meeting grade-level and subject area learning goals. During today’s meeting, task force members were provided an overview of statewide standards and assessments. The task force decided to develop a survey to determine current testing practices throughout the state. MPE Executive Director Kelly Riley volunteered to serve on the committee to develop the survey questions. The task force will meet again on July 18.
