MDE’s Office of Elementary Education and Reading is accepting applications for Cohort 3 of the Literacy Coach Academy of Mississippi (LCAM). The professional development program provides the same onboarding training received by MDE Literacy Coaches to individuals who currently serve in roles that offer opportunities to provide coaching support in a school or district. (Example roles include but are not limited to literacy coach, mentor teacher, grade level chair or administrator.) The purpose of the program is to prepare K-5 school- and district-based applicants to support teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators in implementing literacy best practices grounded in the Science of Reading.
