Last night, Wednesday, March 12, was the floor deadline for each chamber to act on general bills that originated in the other chamber. Any general bill not passed by the other chamber by last night’s deadline died on the calendar. SB 2618, a school attendance officer bill that had been amended in the House Education Committee to include public school choice language, died on the House calendar yesterday when House Education Chairman Rob Roberson of Starkville did not bring the bill up on the House floor for a vote.
