Gregory Elected President of MPE

Special thanks to our members who joined us last Saturday, April 5, for MPE’s 2025 Best Practices Symposium featuring Dwayne Reed and Dr. Lindsay Brett. It was a terrific day of learning, fellowship and fun!

 

The MPE Board of Directors met last Friday night and elected its 2025-26 officers:

 

  • President: Dr. Tracey Gregory is an Associate Professor of Graduate Education and Director of Ed.D. Doctoral Studies at Belhaven University.
  • President-elect: Amy Massey teaches fourth- and fifth-grade gifted students at Oak Grove Elementary School in the Lamar County School District.
  • Secretary-Treasurer: Bettie Martinek is a special education teacher at Riverside High School in the Western Line School District.
  • Past-President: Dr. Melissa Bufkin serves as Federal Programs Director, Early Childhood, Curriculum, and Gifted Coordinator for the Jones County School District.

 

The following members were elected to the MPE Board of Directors during our annual business meeting Saturday:

 

  • District 1: Dr. Anthony Golding serves as principal of Pierce Street Elementary in the Tupelo Public School District.
  • District 3: Amy Chudy, NBCT, teaches gifted students and serves as the Gifted Coordinator and PBIS Co-Chair at Pearman Elementary in the Cleveland School District.
  • District 5: Adrienne Mobley, NBCT, serves as an Instructional Facilitator at North Jones Elementary in the Jones County School District.
  • District 7: Cedric Collins serves as principal of North Pike High School in the North Pike School District.

 

Special thanks to Chris Chism (Past-President), Deana Patterson (District 1), Dr. Cody Killen (District 5), and Dr. Alicia Conerly (District 7), as they rotated off the MPE Board of Directors last Saturday. We appreciate their commitment and service to MPE and our members!
