10/16/25 Legislative Update: Additional Local Boards Pass Resolutions Opposing School Choice

Several additional local governing bodies have passed resolutions in recent weeks opposing school choice:

• The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wiggins passed a resolution October 7.
• The Pearl Public School District Board of Trustees passed a resolution October 13.
• The Lamar County Schools Board of Trustees passed a resolution October 14.
• The Rankin County School District School Board passed a resolution October 15.

The House PERS Select Committee will meet Monday, October 20, at 1:00 p.m. in Room 113 of the Mississippi State Capitol.  The House Education Freedom Committee will meet Thursday, October 23, at 2:00 p.m. in Room 113.
