Wednesday evening, March 11, was the floor deadline for each chamber to act on general bills that originated in the other chamber. This week’s bill tracking spreadsheet reflects action as of 12:00 noon today, March 12, on those bills we are tracking. The Senate and House will now consider amendments to general bills made by the other chamber. They will either agree with any amendment made by the other chamber or invite conference on the bill. If a bill goes to conference, a conference committee comprised of three senators and three representatives will try to negotiate a compromise between the two chambers.
