The Mississippi Department of Education announced Wednesday, January 15, 2025, that six Mississippi educators are among 336 educators nationwide who have been named recipients of the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). Established in 1983, PAEMST is our nation’s highest honor for K-12 math and science teachers. Congratulations to the following MPE members who are among Mississippi’s six recipients:
Jennifer Hite, a 2022 PAEMST state-level finalist, teaches fifth grade science at Pearl Upper Elementary School in the Pearl Public School District.
Jacqueline Lewis, a 2021 PAEMST state-level finalist, teaches AP computer science, geometry and robotics at Enterprise High School in the Enterprise School District.
